Aco self-supporting grid channel ExoDrain made of Corten steel and filled with concrete
The requirements for drainage systems are becoming increasingly challenging. In addition to the basic function of good drainage, aspects such as appearance, ease of maintenance, available installation height and method of installation also play an increasingly important role. Standard gutter systems made of concrete or polymer concrete have their strengths, but also have limitations due to the required standardization. The ExoDrain was developed with this in mind.
The ExoDrain consists of an external (EXO) “skeleton” made of CorTen steel (or stainless steel). This skeleton is filled with concrete, creating an extremely strong construction that offers many advantages.
On an adequately load-bearing surface, the ExoDrain does not require a concrete foundation or any additional side addition with concrete. (Type-I according to NEN-EN 1433). As a result, no ugly wide concrete strip is created on the road surface, which is normally quickly about 10 cm wide. The gutter width and height can be adapted to any situation (even a slope and a “bulkhead” are possible). The choice of material also makes it possible to manufacture long gutter lengths (up to 3 meters) and one-piece corner pieces. This ensures shorter installation times and a perfect end result!
Cast iron grates can only be made in lengths of half a meter. When the grille cover is made of CorTen or stainless steel, lengths of up to 3 meters can also be produced. Because everything can be made to measure, the grids can be produced entirely according to the customer's wishes. Of course, traffic tax must be taken into account!
